10 Facts About Me & Army Experience!
Tuesday, February 13, 2018Hello Everyone!
So I decided to tell you a little about me and the time I served in the army!
Israel has a mandatory law for young people to join in the army after high school.
My story begins At the age of 18 on the 20th of September, 2015, I joined the army. I went through almost a month of basic training and then a human resources course at a military school for two weeks and at the end I received a diploma.
In basic training, I learned to keep up with the times, fired a weapon, I got up every morning at 5am and we were taught about manners and respect.
We had one hour before bedtime that we could do whatever we want, so we spent it by talking with our parents because we'd only come home on weekends.
I had a lot of fun despite the difficulties of standing in time, keeping the weapon and going with it everywhere, getting up early in the morning, keeping the rules etc ...
I met people from all over the country, amazing people and friends!
After completing the Human Resources course, I was assigned to a military camp as a human resources officer. I served in the office, of course, in a military uniform.
The base was an hour away from my house, and I felt it was like work and not military service because I would arrive at 9 am every morning and finish the day at 5 PM and go home.
During my military service, I was in charge of a company of 300 soldiers and commanders in terms of their vacations, courses, flights during service, problems that arose, new soldiers, deserters, prisoners, hospitalized, etc.
I was in charge of a company of mechanics who repaired broken military tools and restored them to emergency situations.
I had my own office with my commander and we helped each other at work.
I performed my duties with dedication during two years and received two certificates of excellence for my duties and promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Sometimes as part of the military service I would stay nights and keep the base with a weapon. All the soldiers at the base were doing it in turns. Sometimes I would stay at the base all weekend because that's the requirement.
So yes, all in all I had a fun and challenging service. I'm glad I went through this period and on the way I learned about myself that I am more patient than I am and have a high work ethic! I learned that I could be independent and orderly and function in stressful situations. I also realized that I could be demanding when necessary and powerful.
I loved my job and might learn human resources in the future if I wanted to.
